It’s not about the colors. It’s not about the fonts. It’s not about the technology. It’s all about communicating effectively with the people you serve.
As a web designer with extensive WordPress and social media experience, I take an integrated approach to marketing and design, developing tools that work for you—and your customers. I invest time in learning your business and understanding your customers and the people you need to reach. Based on that foundation, I analyze your needs, review your existing programs, and help you develop a strategy that best fits your business.
Fifteen years ago I gave up my job as a computer literacy instructor in the schools and took the leap of faith to start my own company. I began by contacting two former employers who hired me as a contractor to do desktop publishing and writing technical documents. As the Internet became more popular I taught myself HTML and started designing websites. In 2005 I discovered blogging and how to monetize websites through a variety of methods.
Over the past fifteen years I have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of clients from entrepreneurs to mid-sized businesses, national magazine publications and major brands. In addition to the web design work in my portfolio, I have earned some unique opportunities as a result of my online presence, including:
- One of eight Mom bloggers invited by Gatorade to visit and meet with their sports scientists and marketing team at their Chicago Headquarters, May 2011
- One of nine bloggers who write for Snackpicks.com, a micro site for Kellogg’s. As their “sports mom,” I have written eight different articles on healthy sports snacking and travel with kids for Snackpicks over the past two years.
- Mention in the credits and notations of my various sites as successful examples in the July 2011 release of Mom Blogging for Dummies by Wendy Piersall.
